Wayne Turner is one of the greatest point guards to ever come out of the city of Boston. A product of the Mission Hill housing projects that scored over 2,500 points at the prestigious Beaver Country Day School in Brookline and subsequently heavily recruited by virtually every major college program in the country. During his senior year in high school, he was named the Massachusetts Gatorade Player of the Year, a McDonald's All-American, and a Parade Magazine All-American.

Eventually settling on the University of Kentucky where he played under legendary coaches Rick Pitino and Tubby Smith, Turner was part of three final four teams and two national championship teams in both 1996 and 1998. At Kentucky, he graduated as the player with the most wins of any player in the history of Kentucky basketball, 4th all-time on the assist (494), a member of the 1000 point club (1170), and the record for most steals (238) in school history. He is the only player in the history of Kentucky basketball to score more than 1000 pts, hand out over 400 assists, grab over 300 rebounds, and record over 200 steals in a career.

Following his college years he played for the NBA's Boston Celtics as well as professionally throughout Europe and Asia for several years where he starred on many teams in countries ranging from Belgium, Australia, and New Zealand.

In the fall of 2010, he returned to the University of Kentucky to finish his undergraduate degree in Leadership, and joined the men's basketball staff under the legendary John Calipari to serve as an assistant coach and was part of the 2011 Final Four coaching staff. He returned to Boston where he spent two years as a member of the staff and management team of a basketball consulting and coaching organization, located north of Boston.

In 2013, Wayne formed his own company, Wayne Turner Basketball, with the mission to inspire and mentor athletes while helping them achieve their full potential as both student-athletes and human beings. In addition to the formation of Wayne Turner Basketball, Wayne is also the director of player development for Mass Elite AAU.
